From groundbreaking to gate.

Hope Community Gari Factory is a community-owned processing plant in Gomoa Fomena, in Ghana’s Central Region — built from the ground up, and now producing.

What we’re building

One roof over cassava, from farm-gate to finished gari.

Hope Community Gari Factory was established in 2024, built board by board and block by block with the community around it. The structure, the processing line and the food-safety systems are complete.

The factory buys fresh cassava from farms across Gomoa West and processes it into clean, evenly graded gari in one place. The aim is a steady, fair price for growers and a consistent product for buyers — starting in the Central Region and the Accra–Kasoa corridor.

Production is now under way. We’re not yet fully in the market — final pricing, packaging and delivery routes are being put in place — but the line is running, and we’re taking pre-orders today.

Site & building
Complete

The processing hall is finished — open-sided structure, steel roof, floor slab, water and power connected, and the landscaped forecourt.

Equipment & fit-out
Complete

The processing line — graters, presses, roasting pans, sieving and packing — is installed, alongside food-safety and quality systems.

Farmer network & first supply
Complete

Cassava growers and aggregators across Gomoa West are registered, with volumes and pricing agreed for the first intake.

Commissioning & first production run
Complete

Trial runs and staff training are done, and the first batches of graded white and yellow gari are coming off the line.

Going to market
In progress

Finalising pricing, packaging and our first delivery routes. Pre-orders are open now — full market launch is coming in the next few weeks.
