What we’re building

One roof over cassava, from farm-gate to finished gari.

Hope Community Gari Factory is a community-owned processing plant in Gomoa Fomena, in Ghana’s Central Region. It was established in 2024. The structure is complete; work now is on the processing line and on the relationships that will feed and carry it.

When it runs, the factory will buy fresh cassava from farms across Gomoa East, process it into clean, evenly graded gari in one place, and supply markets in the Central Region and the Accra–Kasoa corridor. The aim is a steady, fair price for growers and a consistent product for buyers.

We are not fully operational yet. This page is an early introduction — and an invitation. If you grow cassava, move food to market, or work in agro-processing, we want to hear from you now, while the plans are still open.

The building is done. Here is what sits between now and the first bag of gari.

    Complete

    The processing hall is finished — open-sided structure, steel roof, floor slab, water and power connected, and the landscaped forecourt.

  2. 02

    Equipment & fit-out

    In progress

    Specifying and installing the processing line — graters, presses, roasting pans, sieving and packing — alongside food-safety and quality systems.

  3. 03

    Farmer network & first supply

    Next

    Registering cassava growers and aggregators across Gomoa East, and agreeing volumes, varieties and pricing ahead of the first intake.

    Commissioning & first production run

    Target 2026

    Trial runs, staff training, then the first batches of graded gari to market — with distribution partners in place before we scale.
